1. Purpose
This Returns and Refunds Policy establishes the conditions applicable to the return of products purchased through the website of Norberto Rodrigues Barria, Unipessoal, Lda. (NRB).
By placing an order, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted the terms set out in this policy.
2. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with applicable legislation, consumers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of receiving the order, where legally applicable.

3. Conditions for Accepting a Return
For a return to be accepted, the product must:
Be in the same condition as when it was delivered;
Show no signs of misuse;
Not have been dismantled, altered, or modified;
Be returned complete and with all supplied accessories;
Be accompanied by the corresponding invoice or proof of purchase;
Retain all labels, references, and identification seals present at the time of sale.
The company reserves the right to refuse returns that do not comply with these conditions.
4. Incorrectly Ordered Parts
It is the customer's responsibility to verify the compatibility of the part with the intended vehicle before placing an order.
Whenever possible, compatibility should be confirmed using the original part number or the vehicle identification number (VIN).
If a customer purchases an incompatible part due to their own error, a return may be accepted provided that the part fully complies with the conditions established in this policy.
Return shipping costs shall be borne by the customer.
5. Damaged or Incorrectly Supplied Products
If the customer receives a product damaged during transport or different from the one ordered, the situation must be reported to the company within a maximum period of 24 hours after delivery.
Whenever possible, photographs should be provided as evidence of the issue.
Following validation of the claim, the company may proceed with:
Replacement of the product;
Full refund;
Any other solution agreed upon by both parties.
In such cases, return shipping costs will be borne by the company.
6. Warranties and Defects
Cases covered by the applicable legal or commercial warranty will be assessed individually by the company's technical services.
The company may request additional documentation, photographs, workshop reports, or other supporting evidence necessary to evaluate the claim.
Acceptance of a return under warranty shall depend on verification of the alleged defect and compliance with the recommended installation and usage conditions.
7. Special Conditions for Engines, Gearboxes, and Electronic Components
Engines
Before installing any engine purchased from NRB, it is recommended to:
Replace the complete timing belt or timing chain kit;
Replace the water pump where applicable;
Replace the oil filter;
Use new engine oil according to the manufacturer's specifications;
Inspect all associated peripheral components.
The company may request proof that these operations have been carried out when assessing warranty claims related to engine performance.
Engines that have been dismantled, modified, or used without observing the recommendations above may not be eligible for return or warranty coverage.
All engines sold by NRB benefit from a 90-day commercial warranty commencing on the invoice date.
Failure to comply with the recommendations above may result in the loss of the commercial warranty associated with the product.
Gearboxes
Before installing any gearbox purchased from NRB, it is recommended to:
Replace the gearbox oil according to the manufacturer's specifications;
Inspect the clutch system;
Inspect the dual-mass flywheel where applicable;
Inspect driveshafts and all related components.
The company may request proof that these operations have been carried out when assessing warranty claims.
All gearboxes sold by NRB benefit from a 90-day commercial warranty commencing on the invoice date.
Failure to comply with the recommendations above may result in the loss of the commercial warranty associated with the product.
Electronic Components
Electronic components, including but not limited to:
Engine Control Units (ECU);
Electronic modules;
Control units;
Displays;
Radios;
Multimedia systems;
Instrument clusters;
Sensors;
ABS modules;
BSI units;
UCH units;
BCM units;
Similar electrical and electronic components;
benefit from a 15-day commercial warranty commencing on the invoice date, intended exclusively to verify the correct operation of the component.
The warranty shall be immediately void if:
The component is opened;
Warranty seals are removed or damaged;
The unit is partially or completely dismantled;
Repair attempts are carried out by third parties;
Physical or electronic modifications are performed;
Signs of internal or external tampering are detected;
The component is damaged due to incorrect installation;
The component is damaged by electrical short circuits;
The component is damaged by liquid ingress;
The component suffers damage caused by external factors.
Programming, coding, or electronic adaptation of the component to a vehicle must be carried out by a qualified professional.
8. Return Shipping Costs
Unless otherwise required by law, return shipping costs shall be borne by the customer.
The company will only bear return shipping costs in the following cases:
Incorrectly supplied product;
Verified defective product;
Error attributable to the company.
9. Refunds
Upon receipt and inspection of the returned product, the company will inform the customer of its decision regarding acceptance of the return.
Where applicable, refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed between the parties.
Refunds will be processed within the legally applicable period following validation of the return.
10. Exclusions
Returns will not be accepted for products that:
Show evident signs of misuse;
Have been dismantled, altered, or modified;
Are incomplete;
Have suffered damage after delivery;
Have been installed incorrectly;
Cannot be identified as originating from the company;
Show signs of internal opening or tampering;
Have labels, references, or warranty seals removed or damaged;
Have been subject to repair attempts by third parties;
Show damage caused by short circuits, electrical surges, liquid ingress, or other external causes;
Have identification numbers or references that have been altered, removed, or rendered illegible.
